LIFE & SUCCESS COACHING

"Successful people never reach their goals alone"
-Winston Churchill

What is Success Coaching?

Student Success Coaching is not a tutoring service or crash course on "How to get into Harvard". It is an individualized mentoring program designed to teach students (13 and older) the value of goal setting, personal development, and social networking.

"The Student Success Coaching program will provide young leaders with executive-style training to help them prepare for life. This program is meant to go beyond college prep, by grooming students to be successful, happy, and a great asset to any organization."

- Professor Dean T. Kashiwagi

What to Expect from Success Coaching

We have curated activities exclusive to Success Coaching students. Our goal is to foster new friendships and develop team building skills. Activities occur twice a semester.

"After just two months of success coaching, our kids are setting their own goals, mapping out plans... all of this is motivated from within. All with the help of the LSA Coaches. Our family dynamics are improving too! We will be continuing with coaching throughout high school!"

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this differ from regular tutoring?

Traditional tutoring typically focuses on one subject or goal at a time (math, writing, reading, standardized tests, etc.). LSA Student Success Coaching is a high-level life coaching program similar to executive training that is popular in the professional world. We help students improve all aspects of their lives (personal, professional, and academic). Our underlying focus is to teach students how to enact positive changes in their daily lives. The ability to change, is the fundamental cornerstone of learning new skills and preparing for a successful future.

How do you know your program is successful?

Our coaching method is sourced from 25 years of industry-based leadership training and research (more info). This model has been taught to over 1,400 graduate and undergraduate students at Arizona State University and 500 high school students. It was part of the most popular course at ASU’ Barrett, the Honors College. Students who complete the program report an average decrease in stress of 30%. Over 50% of students report feeling happier, more accountable, and more prepared for their futures. Learn more about our individual case studies HERE, and read what our students and parents have to say HERE. We have helped countless students overcome a variety of personal challenges and we have helped even more prepare for successful and fulfilling careers.

Where do we meet? Where do the coaching sessions occur?

LSA coaches will meet with students either online or by telephone for the monthly meetings. Students will be invited to come to LSA headquarters for internship opportunities. They will also be invited to success coaching activities at various locations in the area. Students may opt-in for face to face meetings, but they must have transportation to LSA headquarters in Mesa.

Is this program exclusive to students in Arizona?

No, LSA offers to coaching to any student regardless of location. Students who do not live close to LSA headquarters in Mesa will still have opportunities to intern remotely, but they will miss out on face to face meetings and social activities. We are flexible and willing to adjust our program and pricing to fit the needs of students.

When does the program start and end?

The coaching program ends after one year of your initial registration date.

What if my child cannot make it to a coaching session?

Coaching sessions are flexible and can be rescheduled with prior notice. If we cannot reschedule the meeting, we will assign an alternative online assignment to be completed at the students' convenience. Special arrangements will be made to avoid any calls during holidays.

What is your refund policy?

We do not offer refunds after the first coaching session except under extenuating circumstances. Most of our coaches’ time is spent up-front creating action plans for each student and our programs are priced to compensate for this time commitment.

Can parents attend coaching sessions?

Yes! We only ask that you discuss it with your child beforehand. We like to treat each of our students as professionals and we want them to feel as comfortable as possible. To make the most out of our program, we want our students to feel a sense of accountability for their own coaching, so we put them in charge of scheduling and coordination when possible. Some students are more comfortable with their parents and some are more comfortable without.

Can coaches pick up or drop off my child from school/home?

No. For liability reasons, our coaches cannot allow students in their personal vehicles.

Can we request specific coaches?

Yes, but we cannot guarantee that you will have the same coach during every session. Each coach has very different skills and experiences to share with students, we think that it will benefit the students to spend time with each of the coaches.

Can college students participate?

Yes. If you are a college student, we will offer the same package but with more advanced coaching sessions.

What are the volunteering opportunities?

LSA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our students will become registered LSA volunteers. We provide students various volunteering opportunities by assisting in our summer programs, helping with organizational administration, and tutoring other students in our network.

I am interested but I am still not sure about the program, or my child is unsure. How can I find out more?

You can contact us any time for additional questions by emailing us at [email protected]. We are also willing to arrange a preliminary meeting to talk with you and your child about our program to see if it’s a good fit.

Does LSA offer scholarships?

LSA can offer scholarships to students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Scholarship funding is very limited. Students may apply here.
